Seller Discount Not Showing or Incorrect Price at Checkout

Found a discounted product on Rootsy, but the price doesn't look right in your cart or during checkout?

Independent Canadian sellers on Rootsy may offer special pricing on selected products. Occasionally, you may notice a difference between the price displayed on a product page and the amount shown in your shopping cart or checkout summary.

This guide explains what to check and how to get assistance.

Step 1: Check the Product's Displayed Price

  1. Visit www.rootsy.ca.

  2. Open the product listing.

  3. Review the current selling price and any displayed discount.

  4. Check whether the offer applies to the product option you've selected.

Some product variations may have different prices.

Important: Rootsy does not currently provide marketplace-wide buyer discounts. Product discounts are offered by individual sellers.

Step 2: Review Your Shopping Cart

  1. Click the shopping cart icon.

  2. Locate the discounted product.

  3. Check the displayed unit price.

  4. Confirm the quantity and subtotal.

  5. Compare the cart price with the product listing.

If the prices appear inconsistent, take a screenshot of the product page and shopping cart before completing your purchase.

Step 3: Check the Checkout Summary

Click PROCEED TO CHECKOUT and review the Order Summary.

Check the following:

  • Product price.

  • Quantity.

  • Applicable seller discount.

  • Shipping charges.

  • Sales taxes.

  • Final order total.

A discounted product price does not necessarily mean the final checkout amount will equal the advertised product price.

Shipping charges and applicable taxes may increase the total amount payable.

Step 4: Check Whether the Offer Is Still Available

Seller discounts may be limited by:

  • Promotional start and end dates.

  • Product availability.

  • Eligible product variations.

  • Seller pricing changes.

  • Other offer-specific conditions.

If a discount has expired or the seller has changed the price, the amount displayed during checkout may differ from an earlier advertised price.

If you believe the advertised offer should still apply, contact Rootsy Customer Support before making payment.

Step 5: What if a Coupon Code Isn't Working?

Rootsy's checkout includes a coupon-code field, but Rootsy does not currently issue marketplace-wide buyer promotional codes.

If you have received a code associated with a specific offer:

  1. Confirm that the code was provided through a legitimate promotional source.

  2. Check the offer's eligibility conditions.

  3. Enter the code exactly as provided.

  4. Click APPLY COUPON.

  5. Review any error message.

A coupon field being available does not guarantee that a particular code is valid or supported.

If the code doesn't work, contact Rootsy Support with the code and offer details.

Step 6: What if I Already Paid the Wrong Amount?

If you've completed payment and believe the amount charged is incorrect:

  1. Locate your Rootsy order number.

  2. Review your order confirmation and payment amount.

  3. Check the product price and any promotional terms that applied at the time of purchase.

  4. Contact Rootsy Customer Support with the relevant information.

Rootsy may review the transaction and seller pricing information to determine whether a correction is appropriate.

Please note: Price adjustments or refunds are not automatically guaranteed.
