Keeping your product listings accurate and up to date is an important part of managing your Rootsy store.
Whether you need to change a product price, update inventory, replace images, correct a description, or remove a product from sale, you can manage your listings through the Rootsy Seller Dashboard.
This guide explains how to find existing products, make changes, and manage listings you no longer wish to offer.
1. Access Your Product Listings
To manage your existing products:
Visit www.rootsy.ca.
Sign in using your seller account credentials.
Open your Seller Dashboard.
Select Product from the navigation menu.
Review the products currently associated with your store.
Locate the product you want to manage.
Your product-management page provides access to available listing actions, including editing and deleting products.
2. How to Edit an Existing Product
If you need to update a product listing:
Open Seller Dashboard → Product.
Locate the relevant product.
Select the available Edit option.
Review the product information displayed in the editing form.
Make the necessary changes.
Check that the updated information is accurate.
Use the available save or update control.
Reopen the product to verify your changes.
Some updates may be subject to Rootsy's marketplace requirements or listing-review processes.
3. Update Your Product Name or Description
Accurate product names and descriptions help customers understand what they're purchasing.
You may need to update a listing when:
Product specifications change.
A description contains an error.
Materials or ingredients change.
Dimensions or measurements need correction.
Product features need clarification.
Safety or care instructions have changed.
To update this information:
Open the product for editing.
Locate the Product Name or Description field.
Make the required corrections.
Review the wording for accuracy.
Save your changes.
Do not make misleading claims about a product's origin, safety, performance, or features.
4. Change Your Product Price
Sellers manage their product pricing on Rootsy.
To change a price:
Open the product listing in edit mode.
Locate the pricing section.
Enter the updated price in Canadian dollars (CAD).
Review any existing discount settings.
Check the resulting displayed selling price.
Save your changes.
Changes to listed prices do not automatically change the agreed prices of orders already placed.
5. Update or Remove a Seller Discount
Rootsy allows individual sellers to offer eligible product discounts.
If you wish to change a discount:
Open the product for editing.
Locate the discount settings.
Review the current discount.
Change or remove the discount using the available controls.
Confirm that the displayed product price is correct.
Save the changes.
Rootsy does not currently offer marketplace-wide discounts directly to buyers.
Ensure any sale-price comparisons and discount claims are accurate and comply with applicable Canadian advertising requirements.
6. Update Your Inventory Quantity
Keeping stock information current helps prevent overselling.
You should update inventory when:
New stock arrives.
Products are sold outside Rootsy.
Items are damaged or unavailable.
Inventory counts are corrected.
A product is discontinued.
To update stock:
Open Seller Dashboard → Product.
Select the relevant product.
Open the available editing controls.
Locate Stock Quantity.
Enter the correct available quantity.
Save the changes.
Do not list more units than you can reasonably fulfil.
7. Update SKU, GTIN, Minimum Order Quantity or Lead Time
The product form includes inventory and fulfilment fields such as:
SKU: Your internal stock-keeping identifier.
GTIN: A standardized product identifier, where applicable.
Minimum Order Quantity: The minimum purchase quantity when configured.
Lead Time: Preparation time before shipment.
If any of these details change, update the corresponding field and save the listing.
Ensure changes do not create inconsistencies with existing orders or inventory records.
8. Replace or Remove Product Images
Product images should accurately represent the item being sold.
To manage images:
Open the product listing for editing.
Locate the image section.
Review the images currently attached.
Use the available controls to add, replace, or remove images.
Check that the images display correctly.
Save your changes.
Rootsy's existing product-upload guidance specifies up to five images per product, with a maximum of 2 MB per image.
Follow any updated requirements displayed in the seller dashboard.
9. Update Product Personalization Options
If a product offers personalization, you may need to update its customization settings.
For example, you might change:
Buyer instructions.
Character limits.
Available lettering styles.
Personalization field labels.
Required or optional fields.
Image or file-upload requirements.
To update personalization:
Open the product for editing.
Locate the Personalization section.
Review the existing fields and options.
Make the applicable changes.
Save the product.
Test the customer-facing listing.
Important: Changes to a listing do not automatically change customization details already submitted with existing customer orders.
10. Update Product Shipping Information
For physical products, keep shipping information accurate.
This includes:
Package height.
Package length.
Package width.
Package weight.
Applicable lead time.
If packaging or product measurements change, update the listing before processing future orders.
Incorrect shipping information can cause inaccurate delivery charges or carrier adjustments.
11. How to Delete a Product Listing
If you no longer wish to offer a product:
Sign in to your Seller Dashboard.
Select Product.
Locate the product you want to remove.
Select the available Delete option.
Review any confirmation message.
Confirm deletion only if you're certain you want to proceed.
Important: Deleting a listing may remove it from your product catalogue. Do not assume that deleted product information can be recovered.
Check for outstanding customer orders before deleting a product.
12. What Happens to Existing Orders if I Delete a Product?
Deleting a product listing does not automatically cancel an existing customer order.
Sellers remain responsible for orders they have already accepted or are otherwise obligated to fulfil.
Before removing a product:
Check whether there are pending orders.
Review the status of those orders.
Confirm whether the product can still be fulfilled.
Contact Rootsy Customer Support if you need assistance with an outstanding order.
Follow Rootsy's order cancellation and refund procedures where applicable.
13. Can I Temporarily Stop Selling a Product?
If you need to stop offering a product temporarily, review the availability and inventory controls provided in your Seller Dashboard.
Where supported, you may be able to adjust available stock or product status rather than deleting the listing.
Do not assume that setting stock to zero or changing product status will behave identically in every situation.
Check the customer-facing listing to confirm the intended result.
14. Review Your Changes on the Live Product Page
After editing a product:
Open the customer-facing product listing.
Confirm that the correct product name and description are displayed.
Review images and available options.
Check the displayed selling price and discounts.
Verify stock-related information where visible.
Review shipping and return conditions.
Test personalization options if applicable.
If your changes do not appear correctly, contact Rootsy Customer Support.
