How to Add Products to Your Cart on Rootsy

Shopping on Rootsy is simple! You can browse products from independent Canadian sellers, add your favourites to your shopping cart, and review your selections before proceeding to checkout.

Follow these steps to add products to your cart and manage your items.

Step 1: Find a Product

1. Visit www.rootsy.ca.

2. Browse the available product categories or use the search bar at the top of the homepage.

3. Select a product you're interested in.

4. The product details page will open.

Before adding the item to your cart, review its description, price, features, seller information, shipping details, and return conditions.

Step 2: Review the Product Details

On the product page, you'll find information such as:

• Product name: The name of the item you're viewing.

• Price: The current selling price in Canadian dollars (CAD).

• Product images: Available photographs showing the product.

• Seller information: The independent seller offering the item.

• Main features: Important product details and specifications.

• Shipping information: Relevant shipping and delivery information.

• Returns & Refunds: Applicable return eligibility and restrictions.

• Product warnings: Additional notices for products requiring special attention.

Some products may also offer variations, quantities, or personalization options. Make your selections before adding the item to your cart.

Important: Always review product warnings and return restrictions before purchasing.

Step 3: Click Add to Cart

Once you're ready to select the product:

1. Find the ADD TO CART button on the product page.

2. Click ADD TO CART.

3. If the product requires additional acknowledgement, read the message displayed.

4. Confirm your selection where required.

Once the product has been added successfully, the button may change to ADDED TO CART.

You should also see the shopping cart indicator update to reflect the item in your cart.

Products with Additional Warnings

Certain products may display a confirmation message before they can be added to your cart.

For example, a product designated as hazardous or intended for adult use may display a warning asking you to confirm your selection.

If a confirmation window appears:

1. Read the warning carefully.

2. Click Cancel if you do not wish to continue.

3. Click Add To Cart if you wish to proceed and are eligible to purchase the product.

A confirmation message does not override applicable product restrictions, age requirements, shipping limitations, or Rootsy policies.

Step 4: Open Your Shopping Cart

To review your selected items:

1. Locate the shopping cart icon in the top-right corner of the website.

2. Click the icon to open Your Cart.

3. Review the products currently in your cart.

The cart page displays:

• Product name and image

• Product price

• Selected quantity

• Subtotal for each item

• Cart total

Check that the correct products and quantities have been added.

Step 5: Update Product Quantities

You can adjust the quantity of an item directly from the shopping cart.

1. Locate the Quantity controls beside the product.

2. Click the + button to increase the quantity.

3. Click the − button to decrease the quantity.

4. Review the updated subtotal and cart total.

The quantity available for purchase may depend on the seller's current inventory and any product-specific restrictions.

Step 6: Remove an Item from Your Cart

If you change your mind about a product:

1. Open Your Cart.

2. Locate the item you want to remove.

3. Click the X icon beside the product.

4. Review your cart to confirm the item has been removed.

Removing an item from your cart does not cancel an order that has already been placed.

Step 7: Continue Shopping or Proceed to Checkout

Once you've reviewed your cart, you have two options:

Continue Shopping

Click SHOP MORE ITEMS to return to shopping and explore additional products.

Proceed to Checkout

Click PROCEED TO CHECKOUT when you're ready to complete your purchase.

You will be taken to Rootsy's checkout page to provide or confirm your delivery information and review the order total.

Step 8: Review Your Checkout Information

On the checkout page, you can review your order summary and complete the information needed for delivery.

If you haven't added a delivery address:

1. Click + ADD DELIVERY ADDRESS.

2. Enter your first and last name.

3. Provide your contact phone number.

4. Enter your street address.

5. Add any apartment, unit, or additional address details where applicable.

6. Enter delivery instructions if needed.

7. Select your province and city, and provide your postal code.

8. Click SAVE DELIVERY DETAILS.

You can also review the order total, enter an eligible coupon code, and check applicable shipping charges and taxes.

Before proceeding with payment, review and accept the required Rootsy terms and policies displayed during checkout.
